NCI Seminar: 3D Imaging of Fruit Fly Neurons and Muscles

Anthony Azevedo

In this talk, Azevedo discusses the teams' use of two unique 3D imaging technologies to create both a "projectome map" (motor neurons to muscles) and a "premotor connectome map" (premotor to motor neurons) for the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster, an agile walker and acrobatic flier with only 70 motor neurons per leg and 30 motor neurons per wing.
