CASIS Through the Years
Signal and image processing and related disciplines have made a huge impact on LLNL’s mission for more than 50 years, and since 1994, CASIS has been instrumental in bringing that expertise together and fostering collaborations.
Over the years, signal and image science researchers at LLNL have helped map the moon, revolutionize astronomical imaging, and characterize a wide variety of materials, chemicals, and events in challenging conditions. Today, their work is integral to diagnostics and control systems at NIF, quantum computing research, and hidden object detection in support of national security.
LLNL users can learn more about CASIS history via the center's historical archive.
